Canyon Vista Middle School calendars for the
current school year are found here. You can also use
the Campus Events menu button to view the Canyon
Vista Campus Event Calendar which is located on the
Round Rock ISD website.

School Dances are on Friday nights and begin at
7:30 pm and end at 9:40 pm for sixth graders, 9:50
pm for seventh graders and 10 pm for eight graders.
Contact the Dance Chairperson (Audrey Negley at
snegley@austin.rr.com or 250-1366) for
information on chaperoning at the school dances.
Please obey all parking lot volunteers when dropping
off and picking up your child.

The Brown Bag provides an opportunity to meet
with the principals and counselors for a discussion
of current campus and school district issues.
It is not a forum for concerns regarding individual
teachers and students, which should be addressed
directly to the grade level principals.
The schedule for 2008-2009 Brown Bag Sessions is
shown below. The session is held in the Canyon Vista
Lecture Hall, from 12 - 1 pm unless otherwise noted.

For the 2008-2009, Canyon Vista has 6 early
release days planned. These early release
dates are not found on the District's calendar.
School will be dismissed at 1:30 pm on the dates
listed below. The buses will run two (2) hours
earlier than the normal afternoon schedule.
The Early Release Days for Canyon Vista are:

- Wednesday, May 6
Our campus will use these days for teachers to
participate in staff development. Teachers will be
working on individual professional development (ABC
Portfolio topics), technology
integration, alignment of curriculum,
and instructional unit planning for students.
Students benefit when teachers are given the
opportunity for professional growth and
instructional development. Thank you for your
understanding and support of our needs.
